TimeGuard is semi-automatic, smart and friendly time tracking package. Team members can log their time through the TimeGuard pop up screens. The application automatically keeps track of time and cost ( based on the billing rate of the employee concerned). Detailed reports can be generated.

Pros: TimeGuard Network is a semi-automatic and smart time tracking package. It is like an on-line stop watch that each team member can start when he starts working on a specific task of a particular project and the stop when he is done with the task. This way the biggest block of timesheet logging is taken away from a specific effort. Typically a team member will have to keep track of time spent in a day on specific tasks and then enter them in a time logging sheet manually or on a on-line version of the same. In the way the TimeGuard works, the employee just has to start the timer for the specific task he starts to work on and the stop the count when the job is done.

The application the takes care of putting in the actual billable charge on the database, based on the bill rate applicable to the specific member and allowed expenses reported by him. Project manager/administrator can assign resources, set the rates and do continuous monitoring.

The user interface is intuitive and easy to use. The package takes minimal learning time.

Cons: There should be some way of setting alarms/reminders for tasks that cannot be put off any more without delaying some milestone or other. The project manager/ administrator should be able to set the task pop up screens as persistent nagging screens.

Overall: Quite a well designed, easy to use and easy to learn package, rates a 4 star.
